About Me

Byron Boenig has practiced family, criminal, personal injury, probate, and general civil law in Houston, Texas and the surrounding area for over 17 years. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2003, and also has Masters degree from Webster University in St. Louis, and his Bachelor of Science from the University of the State of New York.

Prior to starting his legal career Byron served in the United States Navy.  His military service included assignments at the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Unit, Charleston, SC, teaching at The Naval Nuclear Power School, Orlando, Florida, and work on a Trident Ballistic Missile Submarine in Groton, CT.  While on assignment in Charleston, South Carolina he completed his undergraduate degree and applied for and was accepted to Officer Candidate School, in Pensacola, Florida, graduating in the top of his class as a Distinguished Naval Graduate.

A devastating auto accident in 1995 ended his Byron’s Naval Career and left him wheel chair bound for many months.  During this time Byron returned to home in Houston worked in the international shipping industry, while attending South Texas College of Law.  Shortly after completing law school, Byron opened a busy litigation focused law practice in Houston with a caseload that covered the entire state of Texas.  He also taught a variety of legal subjects at Houston Community College in its paralegal studies department.

Byron’s diverse backgrounds make him particularly sensitive to the challenges facing most individuals when first encountering the legal system.  Additionally, the auto accident that left him wheelchair-bound for many months in 1995, gives him a unique understanding of the adversity that clients deal with when they are injured through no fault of their own.

Byron’s experience in trial litigation on family law and general civil litigation matters make him an excellent, educated, and balanced choice as a mediator.
